It is with great pleasure that i extenf\d an invitation to you and to your government to attend the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day ceremony, to be held exceptionally in Cairo, on Thursday, 15 May in conjuction with ITU Telecom Africa, the regional ICT showcase and Forum.
The ceremony will take place from 13:30 to 15:00 at the Cheops auditorium in Cairo. As in previous years, the ITU World Telecommunication and Information Society Award will be presented to outstanding laureaters for their exceptional contribution towards building the Information Society and, in particular, connecting persons with disabilities to ICT opportunities, this year's theme. The full programme of the celebrations and arrangements for tha ceremony will available on the ITU website at www.itu.int/wtisd/.

If you are aware of ICT related initiatives in your country that provide opportunities for persons wiith disabilities, then we would warmly invite you to share thes with us. Case studies will be made available on a special web site to be launched on 15 April 2008 at the following adress:
