We are writing to invite you to attend the 2008 Eurofi Conference that will take place in NICE (France) from the 11th to 12th September 2008. The Conference will take place during the same week as the Informal Ecofin Council meeting (Economics and Finance Ministers of the 27 Member States) and the Eurogroup meeting (Euro currency Member States), both of which will take place on the 12th and 13th September, in Nice. Eurofi is honoured to have received the official support from the French Government and to have its annual conference labelled as an official event of the French Presidency to the EU.

 This two day conference will consist of a series of breakfast meetings, plenary sessions and workshops about: the supervision of cross-border financial institutions in the EU, prudential regulatory questions (Basel 2), the outlook for EU securities infrastructures, UCITS IV review and cross-border investment fund processing in the EU, Solvency II, SEPA, etc. The summaries of the key issues will be presented to the Ecofin Council. Eurofi is in the process of finalising the  programme.

 On Thursday 11 September, a Gala Dinner will be held in Nice at the Palais de la Méditerranée. Christine Lagarde, French Minister for the Economy, Finance and Employment will be hosting the dinner and we are also delighted to confirm the participation of Jean-Claude Trichet, President of the European Central Bank (ECB).

 Attendance to the conference is free of charge; however, the lunch on Thursday 11 September is 50€ and the gala dinner is by invitation only.
