Is FTTH a Sustainable Technology? Prof. Braungart will challenge us with his answer at the FTTH Conference in Copenhagen

The FTTH-Council Europe is ready for a challenge! To get an indepent view on FTTH and a sustainable future, we invited an international top-level keynote-speaker: Prof. Michael Braungart

In his keynote speech, former Greenpeace scientist Prof. Dr. Braungart will share his professional opinion on both sides of the FTTH sustainability argument. Prof. Dr. Braungart is a globally distinguished thought-leader in sustainable development, with 20 years experience rigorously evaluating and challenging the adverse impacts of industrially produced goods and services.

The "FTTH Configurator" : A unique tool to assess the environmental impact of fibre networks

The FTTH Council Europe is devising a software based evaluation tool that will allow network builders to determine the precise environmental impact of their individual FTTH deployment plans.

The new tool, dubbed ‘the sustainable FTTH configurator’ and conceived to allow its users to model and test the environmental impacts of their specific FTTH services and network designs, will be the first of its kind when it is unveiled at the forthcoming FTTH Council Europe annual conference. This complements the theme
of the event which will be: ‘Building a Sustainable Future’.
