The reference figures for the electronics industry in Brazil confirm the enormous potential the most important free-market economy for South America offers:
The industry association ABINEE estimates last year’s revenue in this sector at approximately 70 billion US dollars.
This represents an increase of 7 % over the figures from 2006. According to ABINEE, this upwards tendency will continue and will amount to approx. 78 billion USD in 2008:
which means an additional 12 % increase again. Imports are expected to grow by 24 % reaching a volume of 29.9 billion US dollars.
