Policy for Cookies

Below is the policy of the Federation of the Hellenic ICT Enterprises (hereinafter referred to as SEPE) regarding the use of cookies on its Web Portal (hereinafter referred to as WP), which provides visitors/users with the ability to manage their preferences regarding cookies as well as related information.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files with information that are stored by the server of a website on the terminal device (computer, mobile phone, etc.) of a visitor/user during their navigation. The website retrieves this information on each visit in order to provide services related to it. A characteristic example of such information is the user's preferences on a website, as indicated by the choices they make (e.g., selection of specific buttons, searches, etc.).

According to Article 4(5) of Law 3471/2006, the storage or access to stored information on the user's terminal equipment is allowed only if the user has given their consent after clear and comprehensive information. An exception to the requirement for consent, according to the paragraph above, is the case of storing and accessing information that is exclusively intended for "carrying out the transmission of an electronic communication through an electronic communications network or is strictly necessary for the provision of an information society service explicitly requested by the user or subscriber." In essence, user consent is not required for cookies that are technically necessary for connecting to the website or for providing internet services.

Cookies can be installed by the website provider on the page the user visits (first-party cookies) or by others through the website provider (third-party cookies) visited by the user.

Managing cookies via the browser

You can configure your internet browser to warn you about the use of cookies and not allow their acceptance under any circumstances. In this case, certain services and functionalities may not work. Of course, choosing this setting does not imply your consent to accept all cookies without exception.

You can also delete all cookies already on your device by clearing your browsing history in your web browser. This will delete all cookies from all websites you have visited using that specific browser. However, please note that certain stored information (e.g., login credentials, website preferences) may be lost.

To manage and disable cookies, you can follow the relevant instructions for each type of web browser:
