The High-Level Green Talk is embedded in the series of the Green Talks organised by the Portuguese Presidency of the European Council and will take place on 16 April 2021. The event will be the culmination of this roadshow as the wrap up of the initiative. It will take place on-line.

It will consist of a roundtable discussion between high-level representatives from the EU and AU Commissions, ministerial level representatives from Africa and the EU Member States, as well as EU and African Business representatives and CEOs.

The discussion on the initiative will be embedded in the wider discussion on the green and just transition and transformation in Africa. The focus will be on EU and AU Commissions as well as Member States exchanging views on accelerating the green transition in the energy sector in Africa and listening to the views of the private sector and the industry to bridge the energy gap in the continent. The questions from the audience will be raised by the moderator on the basis of the discussions taking place on a live chat during the session.

This EABF event will be hosted by the European Commission, the African Union Commission and the Portuguese Presidency of the European Council, and co-organised with the support of the European Investment Bank, the African Development Bank (TBC), the Africa EU Energy Partnership (AEEP) Secretariat1, and friends of Europe who will provide the platform and outreach to the potential participants, building on the Africa Europe Foundation and the Strategy Group on energy2.
